Abstract

The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) consists of 02 (two) undergraduate courses in Medicine and Speech Therapy totaling 700 students; 13 (thirteen) Postgraduate Programs where 1,100 students work. There are 95 laboratories where the protocols of clinical and experimental research are developed, resulting in approximately 1000 scientific articles published in periodicals per year. In addition, a significant number of doctors, masters and students of scientific initiation are formed as a result of this scientific production. In recent years, there has been an expansion of the physical area of FCM research laboratories and research laboratories. Fundamentally, resources from the Institutional Technical Reserve for Research Infrastructure Costing (RTI) are mainly used to improve and adapt physical infrastructure of these laboratories and bioterrories. The maintenance of laboratory animals under suitable conditions reflects on the quality of the experimental designs. In this sense, the physical area of Biomasseries of FCM underwent a significant change with reforms and adjustments, acquisition of ventilated shelves, air conditioning system, autoclave and improvements in the area for storage of inputs, such as shavings and rations. In addition, the University hired 03 veterinarians to support the entire animal testing area throughout the University. (AU)
