Abstract

We propose the synthesis, characterization and application of new supramolecular systems based on ruthenium polypyridine complexes, clusters and porphyrins, incorporating carboxylate groups for anchoring on nanocrystalline titanium dioxide films. Our previous experience on metal-organic supramolecular systems will be directed to the improvement of the interfacial photoelectron transfer, aiming a better performance of the photoelectrochemical cells elaborated in our laboratory. The investigation will also comprise the fundamental aspects involved, from the assembly of the supramolecular entities to the design and behavior of such photoelectrochemical devices. (AU)
