Abstract

This work is part of the project "Teletandem Brazil: foreign languages for all", a collaborative context and virtual teaching and learning of foreign languages, in which pairs interacting of different countries learn a foreign language and help the partner in learning the mother tongue (or language proficiency). Objective is, through: (i) the investigation of the contexts in which the interactants are inserted, (ii) the motivation and commitment of participants, (iii) the finding of the contribution of Professor mediator, (iv) and a careful study on the development of the principles of teletandem (separation of languages, reciprocity and autonomy); see how these variables interact and influence the continuity or discontinuity of teletandem partnerships. The theoretical framework exposed in this investigation is based on the principles guiding the teletandem on factors related to intercultural competence in motivational aspects and other factors present in the interactions resulting from different social, institutional and technological developments that are inserted. It is a qualitative and ethnographic. This research intends to investigate teletandem formed pairs of speakers of English, Portuguese and Spanish. The assertions will be revealed through the triangulation of the data generated in research procedures and instruments (recordings of interactions, analysis of counseling sessions, semi-open questionnaire, reflective journals, informal messages and semi-structured interview).Keywords: partnerships teletandem, variables, continuity, discontinuity,
