Abstract

This research sub-project aims at understanding the connections between the structure of the city and planning processes in medium cities, realizing that the transformations in urban space are presented in their various scales, indicating a need for studies to each of them: the region network, urban and city. Opt for the study of intra-urban while recognizing that research on this scale specifically require, in addition to updating approaches, the incorporation of articulation with other scales of analysis and greater depth on topics of their own intra-urban space, such as planning. The proposed research aims at studying two medium-sized cities, recognizing that this study encourages discussion on changes in inter-scalar and the implications of planning on the structuring of cities.
