Abstract

Biotransformation is the essential step to obtain information about the new drugs metabolism, and microorganism, in many cases, can be used in vitro assays. It is necessary the correct selection of the microorganism and the culture conditions, because the process optimization is essential to good results. Thus, we propose the biotransformation of a lignan with a potent trypanocidal activity, by different microorganisms and rat hepatic microsomes.
