Abstract Abstract This research is part of the Research Line "Formative Processes in Education" Program of Graduate Education, Faculty of Science and Technology, UNESP, Campus of Presidente Prudente and aims to investigate the implementation of Project Intensive Cycle ( PIC) in the city of Pompeia (SP), in view of the formative process in mathematics developed by the researcher / trainer with the teachers participating in the project. The methodological approach adopted in this research is like action research and understood so far the following steps: analysis of material from the peak of the 4th and 5th years in relation to the activities of mathematics; needs assessment of student learning the PIC analysis training received by the researcher / trainer during the training meetings Teachers Coordinators, monitoring and analyzing the learning process in mathematics developed by the researcher / trainer with the teachers of the PIC. The analysis of survey data revealed that the material of the PIC is based on the methodological perspective of problem solving. This perspective is present in the materials and design underlies all work to be done in mathematics. Regarding content, it was found that the focus of the material lies in working with content blocks Numbers and Operations and the theme Space and Form is rarely addressed, showing the existence of gaps in relation to work with geometry. The training received by the researcher / trainer note that this part of the model school and makes use of the strategy to pass through the multiplier effect. Since the training process developed by the researcher / trainer with the teachers of the PIC in the city of Pompeia was different from that experienced by her in the meetings of teacher training coordinators. During the study, we sought to develop a training that would fit the needs of teachers in the peak of Pompeii, in order to provide improvements to the practice of teaching mathematics. The training proposal took into account the importance of teachers know how students learn certain content that elaborate knowledge in the construction of mathematical concepts and how they can create appropriate teaching situations that favor meaningful learning by students, aiming to identify the contributions to the training teaching practice in mathematics teacher of the PIC.Keywords: Continuing education.
