Abstract

The properties of ceramic materials of perovskite type (ABO3), resulting mainly from the B cation, but are refined by cation(s) at Site A. Among the perovskite titanates, the ternary system BaTiO3 / SrTiO3 / CaTiO3 is of considerable technological importance in view of the ferroelectric behavior of many of his compositions. Among these, the simplest structure is that of SrTiO3 (ST) which is cubic (a = 3.905 A) and consists of octahedra TiO6 with strontium ions between them. This paper proposes the investigation of microstructure and dielectric properties of SrTiO3 films. The powders will be obtained by hydrothermal method in a microwave oven and the films will be deposited by electrophoresis or directly within the hydrothermal system. The powders will be synthesized at different reaction times and the film deposition, by electrophoresis, will be made with the electrodes in the horizontal position. Varying the voltage and deposition time the particle diameter and film thickness will be controled. The materials (powders and films) will be characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The films may be heat-treated and subjected to electrical measurements.
