Abstract

This project proposes to evaluate the paper recycling with incorporation of natural dyes. The drying of the paper will be accomplished in a discontinuous convective dryer for drying pulp-shaped sheets at the Laboratory of Fluid Dynamics and Drying (LFS), School of Chemical Engineering, UNICAMP. The development of this study aims to evaluate the effect of varying the formulation of paper pulp obtained by Vieira and Rocha (2006), by adding dyes based on natural products in the drying parameters obtained for different drying conditions, according to a factorial planning, and analysis of final product quality for different drying conditions relating it to the operational conditions. The color stability under different operating conditions in the absence or exposure to fluorescent light and ultraviolet will also be evaluated. This technology may be applied to small cooperatives to recycled paper.
