Abstract

The aim of this research will be to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus buchneri on the population of microorganisms, aerobic stability and nutritional value of corn silage. Thus, the experiment will be conducted in stages, in which first the silage will be produced by the application of L. buchneri or not, determining the dry matter (DM)losses occurred during fermentation, as well as the DM content, ammonia nitrogen, organic acids, pH values, count of yeasts and filamentous fungi during the shortage of silos and evaluation aerobic stability of silages. In evaluating the quality of the silage will be conducted an experiment with diets composed of corn silage or not inoculated with L. buchneri and different proportions of concentrate (60:40 and 40:60), measuring the effects on intake, nutrients digestibility, products of digestion, and performance evaluation of housing from Nellore. As carriers in the inferences about the influence of the inoculant on the nutritional value of silages, a detailed study evaluating the in vitro gas production, pH value, concentration of ammonia nitrogen, volatile fatty acids, lactic acid and lactic acid bacteria count in response to inoculation of L. buchneri in rumen fluid, in order to verify the survival of these bacteria in the rumen. Similarly, it will evaluate the activity of the enzyme ferulate esterase produced by L. buchneri in order to verify the influence of this fiber fraction digestibility of the diet.
