Abstract

Despite of numerous advantages of biosurfactants, such as low toxicity, biodegradability and high stability, these compounds are not widely used because of the high production cost. Therefore this study aims to optimize the production of the rhamnolipids, through the use of low-cost substrates as well as the development of feeding strategies in a bioreactor, aiming to increase rhamnolipids production and reduce the cost of the final product. In addition, we intend to make the identification by mass spectrometry, of the counterparts produced from renewable hydrophobic and hydrophilic carbon sources.
