Abstract The objective of this project is to evaluate the effects of corn processing with or without addition of 400 grams of calcium salts of fatty acids of soybean oil (Megalac - E ®) in the concentrate of dairy cows kept in grazing elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Cameron) during the rainy season. The experimental design is randomized block design with 2x2 factorial arrangement. The parameters evaluated are: 1) production and milk composition - fat, protein, lactose, casein and urea nitrogen, 2) milk fatty acid profile, 3) body weight and body condition of animals, 4) dry matter intake pasture and total 5) ingestive behavior of animals; 6) ruminal variables - pH, volatile fatty acid production, microbial protein and ammonia-N, 7) blood variables - non-esterified fatty acids, glucose and urea nitrogen, 8) morphological and chemical composition of the pasture, 9) production efficiency of animals. Statistical analysis will be performed using the SAS statistical package (2002), and the differences will be declared significant at 5%. | |
