Abstract

Validation is a document-based process that furnishes evidence that a given analytical method is reliable. It consists of a series of procedures aiming to ensure the credibility to the developed method. Problems involving contamination, adulteration, and incorrect identification of plant species are currently related to the preparation of phytopharmaceutical products and are the main reason to justify the need for analytical methodologies to ensure the quality and safety of such products. In this sense, this project aims the development and validation of an analytical method to allow the standardization of an anti-cariogenic Salvia officinalis extract using manool as a chemical marker.(AU)
