Abstract

The coinfection HIV / tuberculosis requires a strong impact on the epidemic behavior of both pathologies, and is responsible for increased rates of mortality, constituting a challenge to public health. Thus, it has been aimed at evaluate the prevalence and factors associated with HIV / TB coinfection in individuals with tuberculosis in the period 2003-2011, notified in the city of Ribeirão Preto - SP. Characterize individuals with HIV / TB coinfection according to sociodemographic and clinical data. Identify the prevalence of HIV / TB coinfection in individuals with tuberculosis. Describe the distribution of notifications considering the five health units notifying and year of notification. Identify the factors (gender, age, ethnicity) with coinfection in individuals with tuberculosis. Methodology: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective. The study population will consist of all individuals, in Ribeirão Preto, who were diagnosed and notified in TBweb in the period 2003-2011. For data collection will be a "linkage" of databases TBweb, SINAN SISCEL and SICLOM. The data analysis descriptive statistics will be used as frequencies for all variables. For continuous data will be held average, minimum and maximum values and standard deviation. Subsequently, to measure the association will be held the Odds Ratio (OR). The data will be presented using tables and graphs. The data will be compiled in Excel spreadsheet for Windows 2003. Data will be analyzed using the program Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 17.0 for Windows. For this research, permission was requested from the Municipal Health in Ribeirão Preto-SP and authorization of the Ministry of Health for the use of databases and SISCEL SICLOM. The bill was referred to the Ethics Committee (CEP) of the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo and was approved under protocol nº 135/2012, according to the recommendations of Resolution nº 196/96 of the National Health Council.
