Abstract

The main objective of this study is to evaluate the reproductive performance of wild L. friderici wild breeders induced with analogue gonadotropin releasing hormone and dopamine antagonist compound (ovopel ®) and carp pituitary extract (CE). Moreover, we aim to assess the suitability of using urea and / or tannin solutions , in order to remove the stickiness of the eggs. Finally, we want to determine the onset of gonads differentiation and the effect of incubation of the larvae at two different temperatures upon sexual proportion. To this end, 12 couples will be randomly distributed into two treatments (ovopel ® and CE) in six replicates. The female reproductive performance will be measured by the proportion of females that reach successful ovulation, the relative fecundity, fertilization and hatching rates, as well as oocyte diameter (mm). Concomitantly, a pool of eggs will be distributed into four treatments to remove egg stickiness in urea solution for 30, 60 and 90 min, and for 90 min. in urea solution followed by 10 minutes with vegetable tannin. Larvae from the best treatment will be kept in boxes (eight replicates), at 25 and 29 ° C for 90 days. After additional 30 days the sex ratiowill be estimated based on microscopic examination of the gonads, as well as the K condition factor, gonadosomatic index, growth rate and mortality. (AU)
