Abstract

Researches show that with aging, sensory abilities suffer changes, among them the hearing. Moreover, cognitive functions have also declined in those aged close to 60 years, compromising skills related to memory, attention, language, and motor activities. This issue will be studied by means of two groups, namely: the study group formed by individuals of middle age (45-59 years) and the control group, consisting of young adults (25-44 years), both without complaints. The objective is to apply the tests of auditory processing and cognitive tests in middle-aged and compare the performance with a group of young adults and investigate the existence of a correlation between performance on each test.(AU)
