Abstract

The creative economy is a concept that is being discussed in the media and in academic circles as a form of sustainable development that embraces local characteristics of each region, valuing their culture to lead to economic growth. Inspite of the contemporary and emerging topic, there is still no systematic coverage on the subject in the structure of the printed newspaper in Brazil. The following study aims to analyze this problem from the causes that lead to this fact. For this work, there will be a research material relating to editions of a month running the newspaper with the largest circulation in the country, Folha de S. Paulo, and the Jornal da Cidade, average vehicle circulation, with physical headquarters located in the city of Bauru, in the state of São Paulo. The research will analyze quantitatively and qualitatively the incidence of news in the newspapers, notes, interviews, reports, letters and columns that address the creative economy. (AU)
