Abstract

This study, which overall aims assess impact of high fidelity simulation in the self-reliance of undergraduate students in nursing in patient care in urinary retention and as specific objectives: to validate the "Scale Self-Reliance in Nursing Assistance Urinary Retention "propose the creation of high-fidelity scenario related to nursing care for urinary retention, identify gains in theoretical and practical learning and self-confidence of undergraduate nursing students after undergoing high-fidelity simulation in the proposed topic and check the effectiveness the use of high-fidelity simulation. Multicenter project to be developed in four stages by researchers at the Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) and Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto-USP (EERP-USP), approved by the Research Ethics Committees of both institutions. Step 1: the "Scale of Confidence in Nursing Assistance Urinary Retention" prepared based on the literature that aim to assess the confidence of nurses in the assessment, decision making, intervention, reassessment and conduct related iatrogenic situations of nursing the patient will be assessed for urinary retention in appearance and content, and validated in pilot testing with students entering graduate of EERP-USP. Step 2: propose and validate in appearance and content roadmap construction and validation of the simulated scenario reasoning in Bloom's taxonomy, reviewed by Anderson, Step 3 to develop and validate high-fidelity scenario related to nursing care in urinary retention. Steps 4, 5 will be held with students of Bachelors Degree and Bachelors Degree with Brazilian and Portuguese Graduate students regularly enrolled, who had the opportunity to watch the hospitalized patient. After lecture given by specialists together Brazilians and Portuguese, students will participate in video conferencing Brazil / Portugal on the proposed topic with professional service, then will make high-fidelity simulation training in proposed scenario and respond to the scale of self-confidence Nursing Care of Urinary Retention and a questionnaire of open questions and Scale Simulation Effectivness Scale Metti ®. Later, they will participate on written and practical evaluation in the laboratory. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlated according to the objectives proposed in the study. Statistical analysis of quasi-experimental phase will be performed using parametric tests. The discussion of the results of the research will be conducted with the rationale and literature review presented in discursive report. (AU)
