Evaluation of measures of dispersion on poultry research: laying hens

Abstract

The poultry research subsidizes with technology and knowledge industry development. The reliability of a survey can be measured by the dispersion measures presented by the researcher. There is little material in the literature about the reference values of dispersion measures in poultry research nationally and internationally as well as the relationship between such measures and the number of birds per replicate and number of replicates per treatment. With this, we aim to establish classification ranges of dispersion measures in poultry research, as well as the relationship between these measures and the number of birds per replicate, number of replicates per treatment, number of eggs collected for analysis of quality and duration of experiments birds with long cycle. The data dispersion measurements, number of birds per replicate and number of replicates per treatment will be obtained from all papers published in national and international journals with Qualis / CAPES in extracts A1, A2, B1 and B2, in the area of husbandry from 1990 until 2013, where it has been used layers. To determine the classification ranges of dispersion measures by the methodology proposed by Garcia (1989) Costa (2002). Data from dispersion measurements of each analyzed work will be correlated to the number of replicates per treatment, the number of birds per repetition and the number of samples of eggs collected per experiment, we will use the Pearson correlation. Using data from previously conducted experiments with laying hens will be compared to the results of measures of dispersion over the weeks of conducting experiments according to the number of birds per replicate and number of replicates per treatment. Trial period will be defined as great for laying one where the dispersion measure used by the researcher to achieve the range of low rating. (AU)
