Abstract

Children with atypical development may have important deficits in their repertoire, such as impairments in social interaction and language development; if the verbal response may not be initiated by the child, there is no opportunity to be strengthened. Learn to repeat what others say (echoic), to label objects (tact) and ask for (mand) are some of the verbal operant that allow social interactions (result mediated behavior of another person) in addition to learning more complex verbal repertoires. However, to emit behaviors that have effects on the behavior of others and to have their behavior controlled by what others do or say are necessary prerequisites as make eye contact, conditioning by voices, establish relationships between names of objects and objects, among others. Thus, considering the negative consequences for social and school life of a child who has not acquired the language, the need arises for planning teaching conditions systematically to increase the probability of learning such repertoires. The objective of this work is to expand verbal skills in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, which have delayed intellectual development and language. Attend two children who will be exposed to a program of assessment and teaching consists of the following conditions: practice skills prerequisites to receive instructional program (sit, stay seated, make eye contact, imitating mediator's behavior after presentation of the model, generalized imitation and visual tracking); skills listener (auditory word matching) and speaker skills (MEI - tact, echoic and selection).
