Abstract

This project aims to analyze the production of memory and concept of the person among Pankararu located at Real Parque slum in Sao Paulo, and in the village of Brejo dos Padres, in Pernambuco. Privileging the family history, I intend to investigate the experiences of young and old both in town and in the village, trying to understand how the migration between these two locations are configured as a transit flows not only of goods, protection, healing etc. but, above all, memories and memory of your group. The Pankararu are originally referred to the region called Vale do São Francisco (PE) and migrate to São Paulo since 1940, continuing the fragmentation of their ethnic identity. The Real Parque, the group claims its own identity since 1995, a fact that generated disagreements between the older leaders of the group. (AU)
