Abstract

The proposal presented here continues the research on the presence of musical plays by Jacques Offenbach in Brazilian theaters which have been developed within the project FAPESP theme "The transatlantic circulation of printed - the globalization of culture in the nineteenth century", under the guidance of Professor. Dr. Orna Levin Messer. In a more specific, the focus is on the presence of this repertory theaters in Rio de Janeiro, between 1860 - 1890, from the theatrical performances presented by Portuguese companies. Special attention will be given to producing Eduardo Garrido, seen as a cultural mediator, one passeur in the circulation process Offenbach's plays of Europe to Brazil. (AU)
