Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate performance, nutritional and carcass characteristics of lambs fed with corn silage inoculated with Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis, associated with amylase added before feeding. The treatments are: 1- Corn silage without inoculant and enzymes; 2- Corn silage no with addition of enzymes in the trough; 3- Corn silage inoculated with 1x105 CFU of Lactobacillus plantarum and 1x105 CFU Bacillus subtilis without enzymes and 4- Corn silage inoculated with 1x105 CFU of Lactobacillus plantarum and 1x105 CFU of Bacillus subtilis with added enzymes in the trough. Forty lambs Texel x Dorper housed in individual pens will be used. Samples of the diets and refusals will be collected daily for subsequent laboratory analysis. The animals will be slaughtered with 38 kg of BW and evaluations of carcass traits and meat quality will be performed. (AU)
