Abstract

Renal artery stenosis (RAS) is especially common in patients with generalized arteriosclerosis. It is often associated with hypertension of hard treatment and chronic renal failure. Progress and major access to image exams and interventions offer new opportunities for its diagnosis. Nevertheless, in our country there are no recent studies of its prevalence during radiological diagnostic intervention to imaging study of renal arteries when approaching patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of RAS and the epidemiological profile of patients with PAD undergoing angiography. Type of study: Clinical retrospective cross-sectional. Materials and methods: examinations of patients with PAOD undergoing diagnostic angiography and endovascular intervention at HCFMB in the period of 2011-2012 will be analyzed. The variables regression test for demonstration of the RR, alpha 0.05 and beta 0.01 will be applied.
