Abstract

The research proposed by this project aims to continue that undertaken, as scientific research in Brazil, and has as objective to analyze the organizational structure of the Spanish banking system, its recent restructuring and the consequences of these transformations in the city of Lleida, Spain, seeking to understand what spatial logics that have been in place during the process of restructuring the banking firm in this country, which to spatial selectivity adopted for closing of agencies and how these dynamics impact the production of urban space in the city of Lleida process. Thus, the research will seek to expand the horizons of primary research, especially since the construction of comparative analyzes of the processes involving the spatial logic of the banking system and the production of urban space in the city of Lleida, Spain, and the cities of Presidente Prudente and São José do Rio Preto, Brazil.
