Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of incorporation of chlorhexidine in MMT (montmorilloniteon degree of conversion of experimental composites using MMT as filler. Experimental composites will be prepared using a base of Bis-GMA (bisphenol glycidyl methacrylate) and TEGDMA (Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate) in equal proportions by weight. The photoinitiator system used will be tertiary amine at a concentration of 1% by weight and camphorquinone at 0.8% by weight. As filler will be used MMT (montmrilonita) with or without the addition of chlorhexidine. The composites will be handled in room with yellow lighting to prevent polymerization during the preparation process. The degree of conversion will be determined using an infrared spectrophotometer Fourier transform (FT-IR). The degree of conversion is calculated considering the area under the 6165 cm-1 peak of the polymerized material and uncured. The degree of conversion data will be evaluated according to their normality and homoscedasticity. The overall level of significance adopted which will be 5%.
