Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of hybrid composites containing the MMT / CHX complex and conventional loads (barium and silica glass) in different concentrations. Nine BisGMA / TEGDMA-based composites containing 5% chlorhexidine-loaded MMT and barium glass concentrations: 0, 30 or 50% by weight will be made; And colloidal silica: 0, 30 or 50% by weight. The antimicrobial activity will be assessed by the inhibition halo test, and the bacterium used will be S. Mutans. Specimens will be made using a silicon matrix with 5.0 mm diameter and 1.0 mm thickness between two sheets of glass. The photopolymerization will be done using a dose of approximately 18J / cm2. For each group 5 specimens will be made and placed on the surface of the seeded agar plate. The plaques containing the S. mutans microorganism will be incubated in anaerobiosis. Statistical analysis will be performed according to the normality and the homoscedasticity of the data. (AU)
