Abstract

Polylactic acid (PLA) and polyglycol acid (PGA) are used as synthetic resorbable polymers isolated or combined in different proportions. The purpouse of this study is to evaluate PLA/PGA membrane in maxillary sinus lifting surgery in rabbits experimental model, by histological, histometric and immunochemistry. It will be used twenty (20) rabbits "Albinus" that will undergo bilateral sinus lifting surgery by nasal access. The maxillary sinus on the right side will be filled with autogenous bone and biomaterial on the left by PLA/PGA. After periods of 3, 7, 14, and 40 days, the animals will be euthanasied, after that jaw will be removed, for histological, histometric and immunochemistry analysis. Statistical analysis will be a comparation between control and treated group. Statistical test will be selected by distribution of results data in related to normal values.
