Abstract

Chemical sensors are widely used as analytical technique due features such as high sensitivity, low-cost, portability and low time-consuming compared to conventional analytical techniques. In this context, wearable electrochemical sensors become a fascinating alternative especially due to its non-invasive feature. The present project aims at developing wearable electrochemical sensors based on nanostructured biomaterials fabricated according to the targets of interest. The wearable sensors development process includes: the screen printed method to design the flexible three-electrode electrochemical sensor; the surface modification of the working electrode by nano- and biomaterials; the physico-chemical and sensor electrochemistry characterization. In addition, the sensor platform will be tested by mechanical strain in order to obtain a suitable sensor for skin application. Electroanalytical measurements such as voltammetry, potenciometry and amperometry will be performed in vitro and/or on body detection. The internship at Prof. Joseph Wang group will allow the candidate to learn new techniques and technologies for designing wearable sensor. The techniques and methodologies learned by the candidate during the internship period will be employed in her Postdoctoral term in Brazil upon return. (AU)
