Effects of different concentrations of oxigen and nitrous oxide over biespectral index, in swines anesthetized with propofol.

Abstract

The propofol is a common use anesthetic, however, does not provide analgesia. Thereby, the association of propofol and N20 is not well studied, and still do not exist enought data to determinate the effects of different fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) on bispectral index on swines. Thus, with this project we are intend to determinate the effects of differents concentrations of nitrous oxide and oxigen over biespectral index (BIS), in swines anesthetized with propofol. Will be used 48 swines, weighing between 15 and 20 kg, witch will be randomly distributed in six groups of eight individuals, named: GN10 (FiO2 = 0,9 e N2O = 0,1), GA10 (FiO2 = 0,9 and compressed air= 0,1), GN50 (FiO2 = 0,5 e N2O = 0,5), GA50 (FiO2 = 0,5 and compressed air= 0,5), GN30 (FiO2 = 0,7 e N2O = 0,3), GA30 (FiO2 = 0,7 and compressed air= 0,3). The evaluations of means and others values related to index and your validation will begin after 40 minutes since anesthesic induction (M0), followed of new mensurations at intervals of 15 minutes (M15 to M60). The dada will be submit to analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Bonferroni test.
