Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the peri-implant bone repair in rats submitted to orchiectomy treated with teriparatide. 48 rats will be divided into 3 groups according to the treatment imposed.: SHAM = sham surgery; ORQ = bilateral orchiectomy with no drug treatment and ORQTERI = bilateral orchiectomy, teriparatide treated at a dose of 30 ug / kg / day for 30 days. Each animal will receive two implants being one implant in each tibial metaphysis. Euthanasia will be performed at 72 or 90 days after implant placement. Will be performed the microtomographic (Micro-ct), Histometric by confocal laser microscopy, histologic and immunohistochemistry for immunostaining of proteins that characterize the bone remodeling process (will be evaluated OPG, osteocalcin, RANKL, TRAP) and the Wnt process. Quantitative data will be submitted to statistical test of normality and homogeneous variance being applied a parametric or nonparametric test.
