Abstract

This study aims to analyze the modes of designate and silencing the word slavery in the Bible and still, propose a reflection about the relationships built by an enunciative operation. To treat this, let's examine theoretical perspective of the "Semântica do Acontecimento" the enunciative scene that configures the enunciative process, where the places are made by the various sayings. Study the enunciative scene is taking into consideration that for the construction of these places, operates the functioning of language. Observing the cutouts of the bible as an observatory religious and historical we will deal with how the meaning of the word this divided politically in event that occurs. The corpus to be examined by the survey is composed of nine verses removed from eight bibles, being two Bibles considered historically and popularly Catholic and six Protestant. In this study, we intend clarify some questions: The designation and the silencing of the word slavery is the same in the eight Bibles? What are the relations that have been established on this word? The meanings produced in the designations mean the same? Which movements happen in these designations; as they relate to the enunciative process. These questions indicate what will be the object of our study.
