Abstract

This project examines the transposition of a monomodal narrative into a multimodal one. It focuses on the short story La Belle et La Bete by Madame de Beaumont (1756) and its comic book adaptation (L'Hermenier, 2014). Works by Bakhtin (2003 e 2006) on textual genres, by Propp (2001), Cesarani (2006), Todorov (2008), Roas (2014) on the gothic genre, an by Plaza (2003) on intersemiotic transposition will serve as theoretical framework for this analysis.
