Abstract

Sporotrichosis is a subcutaneous mycosis caused by dimorphic fungi Sporothrix. Sporotrichosis is a reemerging disease at the moment it is a zoonosis, it affects cats and humans. Initially Sporothrix schenckii is single specie responsible for sporotrichosis. Subsequent genotypic and phenotypic studies the species was found high variability between isolates and established the existence of Sporothrix complex. Inside this, a greater causing outbreak, justified by a superior virulence and immune evasion is Sporothrix brasiliensis. Studies involving proteomics analyses between S.schenckii and S. brasiliensis, aimed check the virulence factors, are little studied. Our studies focus on differentiation among these species through the use of advanced proteomics techniques.
