Abstract

This research analyses the development of evaluation tools of social housing designs and projects in Holland. The goal is to gain knowledge on pre and post design evaluation methods and tools, focusing on social housing and how research results have been successfully applied to new social housing projects. This goal is to enrich the study at present underway collecting and structuring research results on the large housing program underway in Brazil called: "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" (MCMV). A panorama of research results for the last five years (2010-2014), as a literature review, has been compiled. To further social housing quality, proposals and products should be evaluated, and to gain important feedback such evaluations should be based on robust evaluation methods and tools. Dutch housing studies are known for their long-standing quality and contribution to the improvement of housing construction, especially in Europe. This study therefore aims to collect and analyse evaluation methods and tools to assess social housing quality in general. The goal is to gain rich descriptions of these methods and tools. The protocols for the application and analysis of data of such evaluation processes should then be compared with those described in recent research conducted within projects of the MCMV Program in Brazil. The knowledge gained is seen as contributing to the research already underway named: "An overview of scientific studies about the program "minha casa minha vida": a bibliographic research", Processo: 2014/26087-8 and to improve housing research methodology in Brazil.
