Abstract

This research is to analyze between the populations of 10 of the 21 municipalities of the micro-region of Bauru, including consumer habits, which the local market media, including the identification of regional and national vehicles preferred by such public or that has more scope in each City. The municipalities surveyed were divided into two groups, each was chosen by the population density, economy and availability (or not) of local media. The first group, with populations and larger economy, and availability of local media, consists of Bauru, Lençóis Paulista, Iacanga, Pirajuí and Duartina. The second group comprises the small towns of Balbinos, Pongaí, Lucianópolis, Paulistânia and Presidente Alves.The research aims to verify and raise quantitative and qualitative data of the HDI in each municipality, and also the local presence or extent of external communication vehicles. Thus, you can analyze Veiga assumptions (2002), that in a large number of municipalities prevails a false urbanity, is the type of local economy by urban services and also the way of life and culture of their populations . One of the indicators, as well as demographics and the type of dominant economy, is whether there are print and electronic place, or if media consumption in the city is derived from vehicles with regional, state, national and international content. The aim of such surveys also question the scope of local information content and the rural and urban concepts in the group of municipalities delimited.In municipalities that have no vehicle, the field research will allow verify the ways in which the population is aware of local events, if there is intensive use of mobile, social networks and applications like WhatsApp. Another concern is to check the quality of the information disseminated by the new interpersonal communication resources, and to pass through investigation and journalistic narration.
