Abstract

The AdS/CFT correspondence has been proved to be extremely useful in relating the Quantum Physics of strongly correlated many-body systems and the classical dynamics of gravity in one higher dimensions. The study of the correspondence has also been extended to include very different domains, such as the analysis of the strong coupling dynamics of QCD, the Physics of Black Holes, the relativistic hydrodynamics, and several other applications in Condensed Matter Physics. During my PhD studies I initiated, as a side project, the study of conformal field theories following an analytical bootstrap approach. I began the analysis of the non-unitary conformal field theories describing the shadows of the lowest dimensional composite operators made out of massless free scalars in d dimensions, arguing that these theories can be consistently defined as CFTs (ÃCFTs) for even d. For these theories I computed the cT coefficient in d = 8, 10, 12 using an analytical conformal block expansion and also a direct construction in terms of correlation functions. Our results agree with those found in using different approaches. For these reasons it would be interesting to explore the feasibility of the holographic dual description of these theories in order to provide new examples and improve our understanding of the AdS/CFT correspondence.
