Abstract

There is evidence that the regular practice of physical activity reduces the use of health services, however, little is known if the elderly notice these changes when they start practicing. Objective: to evaluate the perception of elderly participants in physical activity groups regarding the use of health services. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and quantitative study, in which a sample was prepared to interview elderly, both frequent and new entrants, of a physical activity program in the city of Porto and to analyze their perception regarding the use of health services. A descriptive and comparative analysis will be performed between the groups, considering the value of p <0.05. Expected results: It is expected that the elderly who participate in the group for a longer period will use less the health services than the new entrants. (AU)
