Abstract

Aiming at a range of applications since selective catalysts to biosensors, understanding the processes that take place on surface/interface of an electrocatalyst and determining its electrocatalytic activity at different regions are very important. Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) provides direct images of heterogeneous systems and also yields a local modification of substrates due to electrochemical reactions. So the goal of this project is the investigation of the electrocatalytic activity of sensors based on graphene oxide modified with Pt, Au or Ag nanoparticles by SECM. The main point is to scan the surface/interface of the sensors focusing on the understanding of their catalytic properties leading to the improvement of substances detection. Furthermore, this project looks for the correlation between the preparation method of graphene oxides decorated with noble metals and the electrocatalytic activity of the sensors. This correlation could provide the knowledge to improve the analytic performance of the sensors.
