Abstract

One of the diseases that cause the most immunosuppression in people's lives is AIDS, its characteristics are based on the low immunity to allow the appearance of opportunistic diseases, that receive this name by taking advantage of the weakness of the body, reaching the most advanced stage of the disease. Those who reach this stage, for not knowing or not following the treatment indicated by the doctors, can suffer from viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, pneumonia, toxoplasmosis and some types of cancer and varying intensity of pain in different places. Thus, through this project, data will be collected from interviews with patients with AIDS in order to trigger information about the prevalence of pain in people living with HIV/AIDS, their sociodemographic, clinical and pain-related characteristics. This is a descriptive correlational, observational, cross-sectional and quantitative character study, to verify the prevalence of pain in the PLHA in a city in the interior of the State of Sao Paulo.
