Abstract

The aim of this project is to make an iconographic analysis that considers images not mere products or reflections but agents and generators in the process of the rising of the figure of Augustus. Touching on new iconographic trends, this analysis tries and concentrates the study on images produced during the transition from the republican to the imperial period in Ancient Rome, with focus on the Second Triumvirate as well as on the setting up of the Principate of Augustus (from 43 BC to 14 AD).
