Abstract

Adhesion to the dentin affected by erosive wear has been a great challenge for current dentistry due to the clinical and morphological alterations affecting the surface. Then it becomes necessary to study biomodifiers solutions potentially capable of improving the biomechanical properties of eroded dentin. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the influence of the biomodifiers nanoparticulate chitosan and carbodiimide at 0.5 mol/L on the bond strength of the restorative material to the dentin and the morphology of the adhesive interface. Ninety bovine teeth will be selected, from which ninety specimens of dentin (7.0 x 7.0 x 2.5 mm) will be selected and randomly divided into six groups from their substrate: sound dentin and eroded dentin, and According to surface biomodification: without biomodification (control), 2.5% phosphorylated chitosan nanoparticles and 0.5 mol / L carbodiimide. The specimens will be planned and polished and half of them will go through the erosive challenge with 3% citric acid to induce the lesions. After this, they will be restored with Filtek Z250 composite resin and seventy-two of them (n = 12) sectioned in six sticks each. For the micro tensile test, a universal test machine with a load cell of 50K g / f will be used and the surfaces of fractures will be analyzed under an optical microscope. Eighteen restored specimens (n = 3) will pass through SEM with their adhesive interfaces observed. The results obtained will be evaluated according to the Concepts of Classical Statistics, after an exploratory analysis of the data. (AU)
