Abstract

The ambient mass spectrometry is a technique that allows the direct analysis of samples with little or no sample treatment. Using combinations of different types of sample introduction system and ionization methods, several novel techniques have been developed over the last decade. On this way, we can highlight the Coated Blade Spray (CBS) technique as one of the most comprehensive technologies, which was developed as a compromise between sample preparation and direct coupling to mass spectrometry. Due to the largest superficial area available for extraction, lower limits of quantification in parts per billion or even parts per trillion can be easily achieve with rapid extractions time and small sample volumes. Therefore, this project aim to implement the CBS technique in Brazil from it is development and different practical applications, proving that this technology is appropriate to rapid and reliable analysis. Thus, representing the food area, a method to analyze pesticides in fruit juices will be developed. In the environmental area will be developed a CBS method being applied to drinking water to antibiotics' analyzes. Lastly, the CBS method will be applied in the bioanalytical area to determine cannabinoids in plasma samples. In addition, all the developed methods, we will validate them in accordance to the national (ANVISA) and international (FDA) guidelines.
