Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo degradation of sintered Y-TZP by two different methods. Eighty discs (N = 80 discs) will be fabricated by CAD/CAM for size standardizing according to ISO 6872, the discs will be divided into 8 groups (n = 10), 4 Groups that will be sintered in a conventional way, and 4 Groups that will be Sintered by microwave energy using a pre-established protocol. And then they will go through the in vitro degradation process in Hydrothermal Reactor and in vivo aging. For mechanical characterization, a biaxial flexural strength test will be performed. The results obtained will be analyzed statistically (ANOVA, Tukey and Dunnett), and then it will be possible to make a careful evaluation of the results, to evaluate the methods used, for both aging and sintering.
