Abstract

Introduction: Hearing is a fundamental requirement for the normal acquisition and development of oral language. The school is one of the main communicative environments of children, and an adequate place for an integration between health and education. Thus, speech-language pathology practice in the school environment may be directed to the orientation and training of educators, and their training in agents that multiply actions aimed at health prevention and promotion. Aim: To verify the effectiveness of an action directed to the pedagogical team of a public school system, with an expositive-dialogical character in the subject of auditory processing disorders. Methods: descriptive and longitudinal intervention study. The entire pedagogical body of the partner school of the project will be invited to participate in the research. Action will consist of a lecture entitled "Central Auditory Processing (CAP): Wheel of conversation with the pedagogical team". In order to verify the effectiveness of this action, participants will respond to a structured questionnaire, applied in three distinct moments: "Baseline questionnaire" (Q0); immediately after the lecture (Q1) and a "follow up" applied after 3 months (Q2). Results will be statistically analyzed by the professional of the area and arranged in tables and graphs, in order to compare Q0, Q1 and Q2. It is expected that data of this research may contribute to a better knowledge of the construction process of the teaching staff knowledge about aspects related to the CAP, and drive effective practices between health and education.
