Abstract

The objective of this scientific initiation project is to identify in the municipality of Presidente Prudente the characteristics of the struggle and spatial organization present in the LGBT social movement, through a reading and analysis of socio-territorial and socios-patial movements. With the reading of movements and also with the bibliographical survey, it is possible to categorize the main characteristics of social movements, not only analyzing the priori structure of these movements, that is, the search for the achievement of certain objectives and rights, but also a historical and methodological evolution of the movement itself. We understand that geography can contribute to the understanding of disputes over spaces and territories, and once in the classification of social movements. We have the main objective of this project to understand the struggle and socio-territorial formation of the LGBT movement of Presidente Prudente, and with this to understand and, above all, to bring a geographical understanding to this dispute between spaces, thoughts, movements and also of the own body as a constitution of the space seeking to break paradigms to construct new looks of the geographies, this in turn more inclusive.
