Abstract Since circa 1960, the matter of language in German philosophy during the XVIII and XIX centuries is being recovered as one of the core aspects of the centrality of epistemology that eventually resulted in the German idealism. In spite of that, it's rare that the study of the philosophy of language at that time should insert it in that which was perhaps the most complete philosophical system then: the Hegelian system. Language permeates the whole of Hegel's work, since the Phenomenology of the Spirit - where it appears expressly as that which allows reason - until finding its place in the psychology, precisely as understanding and knowledge, being the product of the Subjective Spirit that brings it to objectivity and thus carries out the absolute freedom. Therefore, this research intends to analyze the role of language in the heart of the spirit and concerning the dialectics, focusing on the third volume of the Encyclopedia of Philosophical Sciences and considering the essential dialogue that Hegel establishes with modern German philosophy. | |
