Abstract Aiming to preserve the flora and fauna of the Brazilian biome called "Cerrado", researchers are looking into medicinal properties of native plants. The species Dipteryx alata vogel (Baru) is a native plant of Cerrado, and may have a plethora of nutritional and pharmacological properties. The main goal of this study is to evaluate through histological (Hematoxylin/Eosin and Psicrosirius) and immunohistochemistry (Antibodies CD31 and Ae1/Ae3) the influence of the above-mentioned species in the wound healing process of standardized dermoepidemal wounds. Wounds are going to be made with a surgical punch in the dorsal thoracic region of mice (lineage C57BL6) and the wound size is going to be 0,9mm. There will be a total of 6 groups of study: CM (n= 9 males) and CF (9 females), this group is going to be the control one and will only be administered the vehicle without the active ingredient; TCM (n= 9 males) TCF (n= 9 females) will be administered an 10% extract of the outside layer (peel); TSM (n= 9 males) TSF (n= 9 females) will be administered an 10% extract of seed. All animals will receive the above-mentioned protocols according to each group twice a day until complete wound healing, around 20 days of treatment. The wounds will not be bandaged and the animal will be placed in sterile wood trims (changed every 3 days) in order to avoid contamination. The data obtained will be analyzed through Kruskal-Wallis method, Dunn multiple comparison test; Turkey test, SAS and GraphPad Prism (software programs) in order to evaluate the effect of Dipteryx alata vogel in the wound healing.
