Abstract

Fellowship project will involve studies of electrode materials in bench cells and/or flow reactors and the degradation of at least two agrochemicals, primarily of the carbamate class, with endocrine interference. In these studies, electrochemical processes (direct oxidation and/or indirect oxidation via H2O2 electrogeneration) and electro-Fenton associated with O3 and UV (254 nm) use, initially in the electrochemical cell and in the electrochemical flow reactor sequence, will be used. As study variables, the following will be evaluated: the nature of the electrode materials, the degradation efficiency of each process and the identification of intermediates formed, aiming to obtain information for the determination of the degradation routes for each compound. These analytical determinations will be made by high performance liquid chromatography with UV/Vis and mass detectors, ion chromatography, total organic carbon analysis and others, aiming to evaluate the efficiency of each process studied.
