Validity and reproducibility of the quality of life questionnaire bronchiectasis Qol-B for use in Brazil

Abstract

There is a considerable reduction in quality of life in patients with bronchiectasis (BQT). It has been commonly measured by questionnaires initially created for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire SGRQ's). Recently, the Quality of Life Questionnaire-Bronchiectasis (QOL-B), which is the first specific questionnaire for patients with bronchiectasis, having your Portuguese version available. However, this version has not yet been validated for the Brazilian population. Objective: To validate and test the reproducibility of the Portuguese version of the QOL-B. Methods: 100 patients with a diagnosis of BQT, age and 18 years and medically stable will be included. The Protocol shall be divided into 2 rounds. The first visit the patients will answer 1F QOL-B. At the second visit, they will answer the questionnaire of quality of life the SGRQ and will be made applying the 2nd QOL-B. Between visits, there will be a range of 7 to 14 days. Expected results: Our hypothesis is that the QOL-B will be reproducible and an instrument capable of measuring the impact of the disease on the daily life of patients with BQT. Additionally, your domains will be consistent with the scores of SGRQ.
