Abstract

Urban agriculture (AU) is integrated to the urban ecosystem, has a multifunctional character and provides good environmental, social and economic results. Currently AU is gaining prominence in the world and Brazilian scenario, being important to understand the existing initiatives and demands so that public policies can be implemented. The main objective of the research is to analyze the role and profile of urban agriculture in the city of Porto Ferreira/SP and the research will be conducted based on bibliographical and documentary surveys and interviews with key people and urban farmers.
